PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide dental material having a high operating efficiency and excellent mechanical strength and a dental prosthesis having excellent handleability, excellent mechanical strength and fatigue durability. SOLUTION: This dental material is composed of fibers (B) impregnated with a polymerizable monomer composition (A) comprising 100 pts.wt. of an acrylate or a methacrylate monomer composition (a) containing at least one or more kinds of polyfunctional urethane (meth)acrylates, 0.01-5 pts.wt. of a polymerization initiator (b) and 10-100 pts.wt. of an inorganic powder (c). In the dental material, the polymerizable monomer composition (A) has 17-37 mm consistency at 25 deg.C. The dental prosthesis is prepared by using the dental material.
