PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive and heat sensitive recording material excellent in UV absorptive power and light resistance by incorporating a UV absorbent precursor that efficiently forms a UV absorbent into a photosensitive and heat sensitive recording material. SOLUTION: The photosensitive and heat sensitive recording material has a photosensitive and heat sensitive recording layer and a protective layer on a support in order from the support side and contains a compound having a structure of formula 1 wherein R<1> is H, alkyl, aryl, acyl, sulfonyl, alkenyl or a linking group; R<2> -R<5> are each H, halogen, nitro, alkyl, aryl, acyl, alkenyl, alkoxy or a linking group; and R<6> is a 4-10C alkyl.
