PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an escalator displaying color on footboard faces to prevent danger in getting on and off the escalator by enabling an old person who does not usually use the escalator, a person with weak eyesight, a child or a housewife to have good timing to get on the moving footboard of the escalator. SOLUTION: In this escalator device, a plurality of footsteps composed of risers and footboards displaying color on the footboard faces, and a plurality of footsteps composed of risers and footboards displaying different color from the aforementioned footboard faces, on the footboard faces of the facing footboards, are endlessly connected every other step. Or a plurality of footsteps composed of risers and footboards displaying color on the footboard faces, and a plurality of footsteps composed of risers and footboards not displaying color on the footboard faces, are endlessly connected every other step.
