PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently adsorb the evaporated fuel of an internal combustion engine and to efficiently eliminate the evaporated fuel from a fuel steam adsorbing device even in an operating condition of small intake air quantity. SOLUTION: An adsorbing material 31 such as activated carbon is placed on a part of an intake passage 2, for example, inside an air cleaner 21 to efficiently adsorb the evaporated fuel. In order to efficiently eliminate the evaporated fuel adsorbed by the adsorbing material 31 even when the intake air quantity is small, the elimination can be accelerated by directly heating the adsorbing material 31 in the intake passage by some heating means, or by indirectly heating the adsorbing material 31 by heating the intake air. The heating means is controlled in accordance with the operating condition of the internal combustion engine. For example, the heating means is controlled to be operated only in low rotation or low load where the intake air quantity of the internal combustion engine is reduced.
