PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain wall unit having a ventilation mechanism and a ventilating construction for building capable of realizing cost reduction and simplification of work and offering good ventilation. SOLUTION: A ventilation mechanism 20 is provided only at the upper side of a curtain wall unit 10. Thus, the cost can be reduced compared to the conventional one which has the ventilation mechanism at the top and bottom; and also the assembly work for the curtain wall unit 10 can be performed easier. In addition, the ventilation mechanism 20 is installed at the boundary portion of each story, and the second and third openings 22 and 23 are communicated at the lower ventilating mechanism 20 and the first and second openings 21 and 22 are communicated at the upper ventilation mechanism 20, therefore, the ventilation can be performed very properly by taking in outdoor air from the lower side and exhausting the air from the upper side and installing one ventilating mechanism 20 at each curtain wall unit 20.
