PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near field spectroscope capable of efficiently acquiring true spectrum information. SOLUTION: The near field spectroscope 10 is characterized by that it is provided with Z-axis scanning means 18 and 20 of bringing a sample 24 and a probe 12 tip close together to a predetermined distance within a near field 25 area when acquiring near field spectrum information of the sample 24 and separating them to a predetermined distance outside the near field 25 area when acquiring background spectrum information, and a calculating means 46 of subtracting the background spectrum information from the near field spectrum information and acquiring true near field spectrum information removed of a background, and a back ground information acquiring means acquires the background spectrum information of a corresponding measurement portion during separation of the sample 24 and the probe 12 tip to the predetermined distance outside the near field area 25.
