PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing the door frame of a coke oven, by which the dent site of the sheet surface of a door frame can easily and surely be repaired, and to provide a device for grinding the door frame of the coke oven. SOLUTION: This device for grinding the door frame of the coke oven is characterized by comprising a hung frame 18 liftably disposed between back stays 12 vertically disposed at a distance parallel to each other on both the front sides of the door frame 11 of the coke oven 10, a hung frame-fixing means 20 which can fix and hold the hung frame 18 to the back stays 12 in an arbitrary height, a lift base 26 liftably attached to the door frame side surface of the hung frame 18, a laterally movable base 34 laterally movably attached to the door frame side surface of the lift base 26, and a frame-grinding means 47 loaded on the laterally movable base 34 and having grinding whetstones 49, 50 capable of grinding a frame-sprayed coating film 54 at the repair site 51 of the door frame 11, and being received between the back stays 12.
