PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mounting a bead on a tire carcass when a tire assembling drum has a free end and an opposite side end supported by a drum support. SOLUTION: The method for charging the bead comprises a step of arranging the first bead of the two beads between a region for placing the carcass on the drum and the drum support. The bead is moved from the free end of the drum to this position, and this is conducted before an obstacle occurs to the installation of the bead from the free end of the drum like a bump generated by a tire inserting element by a process for placing the carcass on the drum. The bump may be formed before the carcass element is placed on the drum having a pocket for alleviating the formation of the bump or after the inner liner is placed, or even after the inner liner and the insert and the ply are placed. After the carcass is placed, the bead is moved to a predetermined position on the carcass.
