PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feed cassette with a mechanism for reducing paper surface friction of paper and easily aligning a paper end with the operation of side fences. SOLUTION: A paper holder 2 with its lower end axially supported by a cassette body 1 has the pair of side fences 3 inside, where a feed port formed by an opening at the upper ends of the side fences 3 is turned into a first attitude in which the feed port is in a horizontal direction to permit the feed of the paper and into a second attitude in which the feed port is in an upward direction to permit the setting of the paper.
