PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound useful for allergic rhinitis, urticaria, inflammatory diseases, etc. SOLUTION: This new benzothiazole compound represented by the general formula (I) [wherein R represents a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group and Y represents C(=O), O or CH2 and Z represents COOH, CN, CONR<1> R<2> or NR<3> CO-R<4> ] or a pharmaceutically permissible salt thereof has an activity inhibiting a bond of a physiologically active amine to a receptor of the physiologically active amine and is useful as a medicine.
