PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a reduction in cost while improving a focus detection capability. SOLUTION: A pair of light receiving areas in each focus detection area with respect to an automatic selection mode is set on a pair of photoelectric converting means, a pair of light receiving areas in the each focus detection area with respect to a manual selection mode is set while the light receiving areas are wider than the light receiving areas with respect to the automatic selection mode, and the focus adjustment state of an object lens is operated on the basis of an electric signal in the pair of light receiving areas on the pair photoelectric converting means with respect to a focus detection area selected in the manual selection mode or the automatic selection mode. |
