PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate repair for damage after an earthquake, while allowing premature absorption of earthquake energy, and maintaining the bearing strength of beam members. SOLUTION: This reinforced concrete beam (beam member 1) is adapted to produce a yield hinge 2 near a beam end that is slightly away from another beam end 1a. For example, the yield hinge is formed by X-shaped reinforcement 3. That is, the reinforcing parts 5a of the X-shaped reinforcement 3 are located in positions close to the center of the beam cross section, while other main reinforcing bars 5 are located in positions close to the periphery of the beam cross section.
