ILLUMINATION SYSTEM AND PROJECTOR ADOPTING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An illumination system and a projector adopting the same are provided, which improves color purity and color selectivity, and realizes a color image without color bending. CONSTITUTION: According to the illumination system, at least more than one light emitting device(10,20) irradiate a light beam of a fixed wavelength. And holograms(18,28) are arranged on a light path to compress a cross sectional area of a beam irradiated from the light emitting device. The light emitting device is one of a LED(Light Emitting Device), a LD(Laser Diode), an organic EL(Electroluminescence) and a FED(Field Emission Device). And a parallel light forming unit(30) makes the light irradiated from the light emitting device as a parallel light.
