PURPOSE: To provide an electromagnetic relay having an enhanced withstand voltage, capable of taking a large insulation distance between a primary circuit comprising an exciting coil and an armature and a secondary circuit comprising movable and fixed contact pieces. CONSTITUTION: In this electromagnetic relay 1, a base housing 10 has an insulating wall 14g extending between the exciting coil 56 and the armature 60, and the base housing 10 also has a second insulating wall 14b to isolate movable and fixed contact pieces 21, 22 from the armature 60. In addition, an actuating piece 64 is provided so as to press the movable contact piece 21 through a hole 15 formed in the almost center part of the second insulating wall 14b.
