PURPOSE: A vehicle information terminal and a vehicle position tracking system using the same is provided to enable a vehicle information terminal to normally operate by an auxiliary power although a power from a battery is interrupted. CONSTITUTION: A GPS receiver(30b) receives a GPS signal via a GPS antenna(30a) and calculates an azimuth to a progressive direction of a vehicle and a distance and speed thereof. A CDMA modem(30c) issues position, discrimination and theft information from the GPS receiver to an information center via a CDMA communication network. A microcomputer(30d) controls the GPS receiver(30b) and the CDMA modem(30c). An auxiliary power supply part(30e) supplies a power to the GPS receiver(30b), the CDMA modem(30c) and the microcomputer(30d) when a power from a vehicle battery(32) is interrupted.
