PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the noise caused by the high-speed rotation of a rotary drum from being heard outside. SOLUTION: A ring-shaped washer tub cover 6 which is placed on the inner peripheral wall at the top of a washer tub 4 consists of an upper cover 16 and a lower cover 17. The upper cover 16 is provided with a ring-shaped concavity 16a and a rib 16b, whereas the lower cover 17 is provided with a large number of openings 19 and tubes 20, both spaced evenly along the periphery. Attaching the lower cover 17 to the upper cover 16 so that the lower cover 17 can close the bottom opening of the ring-shaped concavity 16a, forms a hollow 18 which, together with a number of openings 19, constitutes a resonant silencer 21.
