PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a kitchen garbage disposer wherein the apparatus is prevented from becoming larger in size, the cost is reduced, and the insulating effect of the cover is improved. SOLUTION: The disposer has a cover over an inner pot 3. The cover 2 is attached to an outside box 1 in a manner in which it is freely opened or closed and freely rotated about a hinge 30 located on the rear side of the cover 2. Open air suction ports are contiguously provided in the space 29 between the outer cover 26 of the cover 2 and its inner cover 27. In the space 29, a cooling fan 47 and a fan drive motor 41 are provided. When the cooling fan 41 rotates, the open air is sucked into the space from the open air suction ports and cools the cover 2. The fan drive motor 41 serves as a drive motor both for a suction fan 42 that blows the open air into the inner pot 3 and for a recirculation fan 43.
