PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proton conductive membrane which is higher in heat resistance and chemical resistance and can stably function even at a high temperature, a fuel cell responding to a high temperature operation, a direct methanol fuel cell and the manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The proton conductive membrane comprises a three-dimensional bridged structure (A) having a metal-oxygen bond, a fiber material (B), and more preferably a proton conductivity adding agent (C). The manufacturing method of the membrane includes a first process wherein a liquid material forming the three-dimensional bridged structure (A) having the metal-oxygen bond and the proton conductivity adding agent (C) are mixed selectively to prepare material mixture liquid, a second process wherein the material mixture liquid thus obtained is impregnated into the fiber material (B), and a third process wherein the fiber material (B) thus impregnated is set by a sol-gel reaction. |
