PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium reproducing device that implements fast forward (FF) or fast backward (FB) of a track number at a high-speed while displaying information relating to a selected track on a display section when a Skip IP/Down key is kept depressed. SOLUTION: A remote controller 25 is provided with; a display section 27 capable of displaying a track number being a reproduction object and text data; a display control section 29 for controlling the display of the display section; and a key entry section 31 for operating a reproduction means 11 for a disk such as an MD. Display priority is given in advance to a plurality of kinds of data to be displayed on the display section 27, when a skip-up key or skip-down key in the key entry section 31 is kept depressed, the track number of the reproduction object is updated by forward carrying or reverse carrying and data with high priority among a plurality of kinds of data to be displayed by the display section 27 is transferred from an EMU to the display control section 29.
