<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fare accounting system which correctly and smoothly acknowledges that a user passes through a toll gate and which reliably collects a fare according to a ride section of the user. SOLUTION: When the user passes through a ticket gate at a getting-on station S1 and getting-off station Sn, the user presses a getting-on-and-off button 5a provided on a cellular phone 5. The cellular phone 5 is changed from an intermittent reception state to a continuous reception state through a dedicated channel. Ticket check apparatuses 1-1 to 1-n receive identification information requests at predetermined intervals. Since the cellular phone 5 of the user is in the continuous reception state, the cellular phone performs a reception operation immediately in response to the identification information request. After receiving the identification information, the phone is changed to the intermittent reception state. A server 2 records the getting-on and getting-off stations in a database 3 in association with the identification of the cellular phone 5, and simultaneously the server specifies a ride section according to the getting-on and getting-off stations so as to calculate a fare and charge the fare to the user.</p> |
