PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that has a simple structure, prevents the transformation of a fixing roller, and which will not produce breakage of the electrical insulating layer or a resistance heating element. SOLUTION: A mold release layer substrate 6 and a core metal member 1 are fixed via a cap member 8, having a resistance heating element terminal 14. The cap member 8 is composed of an insulation resin material and has a nail-shaped projection 10 in a part jointed with the inside of the core metal member 1. The nail-shaped projection 10 is forced to extend outside in the radial direction by a screw-shaped electrode terminal 13. A space 16 is formed in between the side of the mold release layer substrate 6, and the side of the cap member 8 and a projection 12 is formed, in contact with the inside of the mold release layer substrate 6. The cap member 8 is jointed with the inside of the core metal member 1 by a spring-shaped member 17, rather of the nail- shaped projection 10.
