PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of conventional inverters for trains. SOLUTION: This module-type inverter for trains 10 has an inverter 11, composed of a switching element with 3 IGBTs of two-in-one type, a breaker 12 composed of a semiconductor LB, and a dry filter capacitor 14. The inverter 10 is provided one for each motor. The inverter 11 is of a snubberless type which does not have a snubber capacitor, and a coaxial cable 40 is used as a main circuit which connects an output of the inverter 10 to a motor 30, and a connector 15 is used in place of a terminal base, to connect the main circuit and the inside of the inverter.
