PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a signal processor and a signal processing method capable of effectively reducing noise in an area from a low luminance part up to a high luminance part. SOLUTION: A noise reduction part 30 for applying noise reduction processing to a digital signal is arranged between an A/D converter 20 for converting an analog signal (picture signal) obtained by image pickup using an image pickup element 16 into a digital signal and a signal processing part 32 for applying various kinds of signal processing other than the noise reduction processing to the digital signal.
