CAMERA WITH STROBE ADJUSTMENT FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately set a strobe energy of a camera at photographing including a local bright area. SOLUTION: A method of setting the strobe energy in the camera comprises steps of: (a) taking a first trial photograph of a scene using a pre-set strobe energy (804); (b) taking a second trial photograph of the scene using only ambient illumination (801); (c) identifying saturated pixels in the second trial photograph (803); and (d) combining information about the saturated pixels in the second trial photograph with information from the first trial photograph to compute the strobe energy for a final photograph. In such a manner, photographing in the case of including the local bright area is appropriately performed.
