PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change the language of a message displayed on an operation display part, without changing an operation display-related firmware. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a copying machine having an operation display means and a print means, and a controller having a communication means and a hard disk drive. The hard disk drive is provided with a message file consisting of message data in a plurality of languages about a message used for a display on the operation display means. When a language not existing in the message file is needed by the change of a place of destination, the controller receives message data or a message file from the outside through the communication means, and updates the message file. The controller reads the message data of the language corresponding to the change of the place of destination from the message file and gives them to the copying machine, and the copying machine uses the message data from the controller for the display of the operation display means. |
