PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-developable photosensitive material having high maximum density, excellent image stability after imaging and low fog and free of occurrence of interference fringes and to provide an appropriate image recording method using the heat-developable photosensitive material. SOLUTION: In the heat-developable photosensitive material having a backing layer on one face of a support and an imaging layer comprising at least an organic silver salt, photosensitive silver halide, a reducer and an anti-foggant and a protective layer stacked in this order on the other face of the support, the anti-foggant has been microencapsulated.
