The aircraft tractor comprises two longitudinal arms extending on the right and left of the tractor each carrying a gate (9,10) articulated at its end. Two strips on the opposite side of the gates are each pressed on one of the two wheels (14,15) of the front wheel axle unit (11). Each strip is mounted at the end of a beam (16) pivoting on a support stirrup (18) integral with the tractor chassis (1,6). A strain gauge system (19) connects one end of the beam to the neighboring end of the stirrup.
