PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents providing system, a contents providing server, its program and a recording medium with the program recorded thereon to enable an agent to collect information and to provide contents suitable for tastes and needs of a user. SOLUTION: In the contents providing system in which the user, a contents provider who provides the user with the contents and the contents providing server that provides the user with contents data regarding the contents of the contents provider are connected with one another by a communication network, the above problem is solved by providing it with a data base that stores the information to select the contents data suitable for the user, the agent that selects the contents data suitable for the user by using the data base and an agent that acquires the selected contents data suitable for the user from the contents provider.
