PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently record, reproduce and display a character information indicating contents when mainly recording audio data such as music sources. SOLUTION: The audio data are disposed in an A pack and the character information on the audio data and its display time data are disposed in a D pack. A display time decoder 51 separates the display time data in the D pack into display start time data and display end time data and applies them to a start comparator 52 and an end comparator 53. A character data decoder 54 converts character data into dot matrix character data for a display and stores them into a buffer 55. The start comparator 52 and the end comparator 53 compare the data of display start time and display end time with an A pack address and control the display time of characters.
