PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pigment dispersing agent which contains a pyridobenzimidazolone compound, is substantially colorless, can realize stable and good dispersibility and flowability of a pigment, and excels in light transmission properties. SOLUTION: The pigment dispersing agent comprises at least one of the pyridobenzimidazolone compounds represented by formulae (1) to (4) [X<1> and X<2> are each a single bond, CON(R<3> ), COO, CO, SO2 , SO2 N(R<3> ) or SO3 ; Y is a monoalkylamino group, a dialkylamino group, a nitrogen-containing 5- or 6-membered saturated heterocyclic group or a group represented by formula (5); R<1> is H or an alkyl group; R<3> is H, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkenyl group or an A-X<2> -Y group; R<4> is H, an alkyl group or an aryl group; A is an alkylene group, an arylene group, an alkenylene group or an aralkylene group; Z is a lower alkylene group; N(R<2> )2 is a lower alkylamino group or a nitrogen-containing 5- or 6-membered saturated heterocyclic group; and (a) is 1-2]. |
