PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyolefin purification method which purifies a polyolefin produced by polymerization using a homogeneous metal complex catalyst, uses a small amount of a solvent in the purification, needs few steps, and is excellent in productivity and economy. SOLUTION: This method, for purifying a polyolefin obtained by the polymerization of an olefin by using a homogeneous metal complex catalyst, is characterized in that a hydroxy compound is added to a polyolefin reaction solution obtained by the polymerization of an olefin to insolubilize and remove the metal complex catalyst component.
