PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross member connection structure of a car capable of securing a sufficient force of connection to a side member when a high tensile steel plate is adopted for a cross member. SOLUTION: In this cross member connection structure of the car, the end part of the cross member 3 extending in the lateral direction of the car is connected to the inside wall 2a of the side member 2 extending in the longitudinal direction of the car. The cross member 3 is formed of the high tensile steel plate, and connected to the side member 2 through a reinforcement (connection member) 5 formed of a mild steel plate formed by bending a connection flange part 15 weld-connected to the side member 2.
