The invention relates to a method for producing tablets from plant extracts, for example St. John's wort extract with an extract percentage of 80 %, according to which the extract treated on a belt drier is compressed, once 1 % silicium dioxide has been added, and granules with a defined grain size distribution and thus surface size are produced from the compressed mass. In order to achieve a high disintegration and release rate at a low adjuvant percentage and high extract percentage, in addition to other adjuvants, a disintegrant combination from sodium hydrogen carbonate and two other, low- dose disintegrants, such as croscarmellose sodium and sodium carboxymethyl starch is added. The inventive method allows production of ingestible tablet s that contain 900 mg of St. John's wort extract. |
