METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HYDROGEN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cracking a hydrocarbon to manufacture hydrogen at high efficiency by increasing the conversion rate of the hydrocarbon with a catalyst, by which the hydrocarbon can be decomposed under a comparatively mild reaction condition and the activity of which can be maintained for a long time. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing hydrogen comprises cracking a lower hydrocarbon by adding carbon dioxide in the presence of a nickel- carried zeolite catalyst. Methane is preferably used as the lower hydrocarbon.
