摘要 PURPOSE: A cholesteric liquid crystal color filter for a reflective liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce the manufacturing process while improving the characteristics of thin film transistors by preventing light leakage current. CONSTITUTION: An upper substrate(110) and a lower substrate(130) face each other. A liquid crystal layer(120) is interposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. Thin film transistors(T) and pixel electrodes(112) connected with the thin film transistors are formed at a lower part of the upper substrate. An upper alignment film(114) is formed under the thin film transistors and the pixel electrodes. A light absorbing layer(132) and a first lower alignment film(134) are formed on the lower substrate. R, G, and B CLC(Cholesteric Liquid Crystal) color filters(136a,136b,136c) are formed on the light absorbing layer. A CLC color filter layer includes transparent areas(138) formed at boundaries by the color by exposing the R, G, and B CLC color filters to remove characteristics of CLC. Black matrix parts are formed at corresponding areas of the transparent area and the light absorbing layer to interrupt light irradiation to the thin film transistors.
