PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for ink jet recording which forms an image excellent in granularity, gloss and bleeding resistance, an ink jet cartridge, an ink jet image recording method, and an ink jet recording image. SOLUTION: The ink for ink jet recording contains at least one kind of fine colored particles selected from those comprising a dye-containing resin, those comprising a resin coated with a dye, and those comprising a dye- containing resin coated with a resin, and pigment particles, and which is characterized in that it has a redispersion coefficient, represented by the formula (1): redispersion coefficient = (the secondary volume-mean particle diameter of fine colored particles and pigment particles after redispersion)/(the secondary volume-mean particle diameter of fine colored particles and pigment particles before redispersion), of 0.5 to 5. |
