PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust plate for a valve unit in an internal combustion engine which is inserted by a rocker shaft at a suction side and a rocker arm at an exhaust side which supports a rocker arm at the suction side and a rocker arm at the exhaust side for oscillation and universally, a respectively, and prevents a mutual contact of the above-mentioned both rocker arms and members adjacent to these or a mutual contact of the rocker arm. SOLUTION: The valve unit for the internal combustion engine 1 is equipped with a rocker arm 21 at the suction side which is in contact with a suction valve 17 and drives the suction valve 17, a rocker shaft 5 at the suction side which supports a rocker arm 21 at the suction side in oscillation and universally, a rocker arm 23 at exhaust side which is in contact with an exhaust valve 18 and drives the exhaust valve 18, and a rocker shaft 6 at the exhaust side which supports the rocker arm 23 at the exhaust side for oscillation and universally. A thrust plate 28 is equipped with a plurality of insertion holes which inserts the rocker shaft 5 at the suction side and the rocker shaft 6 at the exhaust side and is installed at the rocker arm 21 at the suction side, or the rocker arm 23 at the exhaust side in a state that the insertion holes are inserted into the rocker shaft 5 at the suction side and a rocker shaft 6 at the exhaust side.
