PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the mounting structure and method for an overhanging structure in which a metal fitting and a vertical member for a building frame are not damaged because the overhanging structure is difficult to hang down and can be installed simply without a danger. SOLUTION: In the mounting structure of the overhanging structure 2, the overhanging structure 2 is mounted on the building frame 1 through the metal fitting 5. The two vertical members 112 approximately parallel with the building frame are secured, flanges 31 on both sides of a U-shaped sectional reinforcing fitting 3 are fitted to the two vertical members 112, the metal fitting 5 is set up onto the web 32 of the reinforcing fitting 3 and the overhanging structure 2 is attached on the metal fitting 5.
