PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst muffler having a reinforcement plate capable of absorbing stress derived from thermal expansion or shrinkage caused by a temperature difference between a body and the muffler. SOLUTION: The catalyst muffler 10 has, in its inside, an exhaust emission control catalyst 14 prepared by carrying a catalyst layer on various carriers to properly control the emission of exhaust gas. The reinforcement plate 15 bearing various stresses acting on the muffler 10 and catalyst 14 is installed in a barrier rib form sandwiching the catalyst 14 in a muffler body 11, and the peripheral edge A thereof is intermittently welded and fixed only to the prescribed inner peripheral positions of body of the muffler 10.
