PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat which is improved in operability in height adjusting, prevention of noise generation, and reduction of the number of parts and the assembling man-hour, degree of designing freedom, and makes reset motion of an input side member smoother. SOLUTION: A clutch unit is assembled into a height adjusting device for the seat of a car. An operation lever is connected to an outer wheel 1. An output shaft 12 is connected to a rotary member of vertical movement mechanism of the seat. Clockwise or counterclockwise torque inputted by the operation lever is transferred to the output shaft 12 via a first clutch part 15 and an inner wheel 13. Thus the seat is vertically moved. On the other hand, reverse input torque is locked in a clockwise or counterclockwise rotation direction by a second clutch part 16. Thus a height position of the seat can be retained.
