PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a coating film by which coagulation and flooding of a pigment can be suppressed and thereby repairing property can be improved in the method for forming the coating film by applying a clear coating material and a solvent type solid base coating material containing a titanium oxide pigment and other colored pigments. SOLUTION: The method for forming the coating film is constituted by applying the solvent type solid base coating material and the clear coating material onto a base material by wet-on-wet and is characterized by that the solvent type solid base coating material contains the titanium oxide pigment, other colored pigments and a tertiary amine.
