PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of a conventional seedling transplanter comprising the disturbance of seedlings pushed out of a holder to hinder the planting action by the over protruded seedlings when the holding resistance between the seedling holder and a seedling bed soil is too small and the failure in keeping the optimum posture of the seedling to disturb the planting posture by the collapse of the bed soil of the seedling when the holding resistance is too high. SOLUTION: A seedling on a seedling tray is pushed out with a pusher, transferred to a seedling holder, further to a lateral feeding apparatus with the seedling holder, supplied to a planting apparatus with the lateral feeding apparatus and planted with the planting apparatus. In the seedling transplanter having the above mechanism, the seedling holder contains a seedling holding claw to stop and hold a seedling pushed into the seedling holder to prevent the motion of the seedling and the seedling holding claw is gradually protruded toward the seedling side according to the motion of the claw along the seeding- side edge toward the pushing direction of the seedling pusher.
