PURPOSE: An additive for skin cosmetic containing muscovite, montmorillonite, liquid aloe and alginic acid is provided which has excellent ultraviolet rays-screening effect when applied to the skin, safety to a human body, biocompatibility and no skin irritation and permits maintenance of moisture balance. CONSTITUTION: The additive for skin cosmetic contains 9 to 20% by weight of muscovite with a mesh of 325 or more as representative mineral of sheet silicate, 70 to 90% by weight of montmorillonite and 1 to 10% by weight of alginic acid. One or two of cactus and aloe are used instead of the alginic acid. About 10% by weight of the additive is added to a conventional soap composition to produce cosmetic soap.
