PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a password managing method for IC card for changing a password in accordance with the current using situation by a user, an IC card applying this method, and a user authentication program. SOLUTION: In this password managing method, the number of times of authenticating processes are counted by some method for every use of the IC card from the setting of the password, counted values are stored in a nonvolatile memory of the IC card, and checked every time when certifying the IC card, the user is encouraged to change the password, when it is confirmed that the authenticating processes have been done by more than a predetermined number of times from the setting of password, and the password is forcibly changed. |
