PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the construction unit price by efficiently carrying out construction at a low cost. SOLUTION: This bed material includes a groove-shaped runner 1 horizontally fixed to the upper and lower edges of a wall surface 10 of a building, a plurality of furring strips 2 connected to the wall surface at a designated space through the runner 1, rod-like connecting materials 3 connecting the furring strips 2, and a spacer 4 disposed between the rod-like connecting material 3 and the wall surface 10 for fixing the rod-like connecting material 3 to the wall surface 10. The furring strip 2 is provided with through holes 6 for penetrating the rod-like connecting material 3 bored in opposite positions of side surfaces 2B on both sides of a fixing surface 2a for fixing the building board material. Each through hole 6 is elongated vertically and has a wide freely insert part 6A and a fit-in connecting part 6B. The fit-in connecting part 6B has such a width that the rod-like connecting material 3 can be penetrated without gap, and such a height that one or more rod-like connecting materials can be inserted. Two rod-like connecting materials 3 are superposed one on the other vertically and put in the through hole 6 of the furring strip 2, and two rod-like connecting materials 3 are connected to each other by the furring strip 2.
