PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and high efficiency methanol reformer capable of lowering the concentration of CO in a reformed gas in a load change to the threshold limit value in a fuel cell or below. SOLUTION: The reforming unit 20 of the methanol reformer is formed by a flat plate laminated structure. The reforming unit 20 has vaporizing and preheating sections 13, 14 for vaporizing and preheating a fuel to be reformed and a reforming section 12 having a combustion catalyst that promotes a reaction of the fuel as methanol. An oxidation section 15 for oxidizing CO as a by-product produced in the reforming section 12 is disposed on the downstream side of the reforming section 12. A sensor 8 is disposed in the oxidation section 15 and air for cooling the CO oxidation section is moderately supplied. |
