PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film for lead wires and a packaging material for a battery using it which enables stable sealing without causing short circuit between a barrier layer of an exterior packaging body and lead wires by heat and pressure of heat seal when inserting a battery main body into the exterior packaging body with polyolefine resin as a sealant layer and sealing at a marginal section with heat seal. SOLUTION: When a marginal section of the exterior packaging body made of a laminated body with heat seal characteristics inside, with battery main body housed, is sealed with a lead wire main body made of metal shaped like a strip or a bar pinched, a film to be arranged interposed between the laminated body and the lead wire main body is to be of a multilayer structure film containing at least a heat resistant resin layer composed of a 4-methyl-1-pentene polymer graft denatured with unsaturated carboxylic acid.
