PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably improve reliability of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery containing an organic solvent without containing moisture. SOLUTION: This secondary battery comprises a positive electrode 1, a negative electrode 2 and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt. A carbon dioxide catching material 11 reacting with carbon dioxide in an environment barely containing moisture to fix the carbon dioxide is installed in the battery. The catching material 11 is used by carrying an epoxy compound, an amine compound, CuH(PH3)2, Na[CrH(CO)5], Ni(PH3) or Ca(OH)2 on a carrier such as a carbon material, a metal or a metal oxide. Water is not involved in the reaction. |
