PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a revetment wall for a river or the like in which environment preservation such as a landscape, hydrophilic properties or the like is considered. SOLUTION: In a revetment wall 2 for the river or the like in which steel sheet piles 1 are driven to a ground under the mutually connected state, a fibrous member 5 having water retentivity is installed into a recessed section 1a on the water-contacting side of the steel sheet pile 1 driven to the ground while baggy mats 6 enabling the germination and growth of plant seeds are mounted so as to cover the fibrous member 5 and a surface section on the water-contacting side with the steel sheet pile and the baggy mats 6 are filled with a vegetation base material 16 containing the plant seeds.
