FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed satellite system is intended to fix positions of emergency radio buoys transmitting distress signals on frequency 121.5 MHz and in frequency range 406.0-406.1 MHz. System incorporates first 1 and second 2 emergency radio buoys, artificial earth satellite 3, first 4, second 5, third 6, fourth 7 and fifth 8 receiving antennas, first 9, second 10 and third 11 receivers, first 12 and second 13 storages, transmitter 14 with antenna 15, information reception center 16, receiver 18 with receiving antenna 17, first 19 and second 20 information processing units, unit 21 for interface with communication networks, test and control unit 22, communication device 23 of search and rescue organizations. EFFECT: increased precision and eliminated ambiguity of fixing positions of ships and aircraft in emergency. 1 cl, 4 dwg
